Victoria is a NOAA EPP/MSI Earth System Sciences and Remote Sensing Fellow at the University of Puerto Rico Mayagüez Campus, pursuing a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Water Resources. Her work focuses on validating the data used to create flooding maps for Puerto Rico’s rivers and water bodies to ensure these maps accurately reflect real-world conditions. This work is essential for improving how flood risks are assessed and managed. By providing accurate data for managing water-related hazards, this research will support NOAA’s mission to ensure the safety and well-being of communities.
