Gerardo was a NOAA EPP/MSI Earth System Sciences and Remote Sensing-II Scholar in Cohort 1 at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez. He received his masters degree in Civil Engineering. His research project was on the application of Soil Moisture remote sensing products for operational flood monitoring in Puerto Rico. Gerardo continues as a CESSRST-II Graduate Fellow in Cohort 2 pursuing a Ph.D.
