Andrea is a NOAA EPP/MSI Earth System Science and Remote Sensing Scholar at the University of Texas at El Paso. She is pursuing a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering focusing on Geospatial Information Science and Technology. Her research interests align with NOAA’s CESSRST program, which encompass satellite remote sensing, climate change, data assimilation, and public health and safety. her goal is to explore the application of generative AI to enhance Earth Science machine learning models. This research directly supports NOAA’s mission to understand and predict changes in the Earth’s environment, contribute to conservation efforts, and improve the quality of life for communities across the United States. Through advanced data analysis and improved predictive models, my work aims to facilitate effective resource management, drive innovation in research, and enhance public safety and preparedness. Additionally, she is committed to examining the social implications of my research, particularly in areas such as social equity, risk communication, and policy development.
