Accelerating Earth System modeling is essential to improve weather forecast accuracy and lead time, which requires advancements in Earth System Science. There are many unmet observational needs in supporting Earth System Science research. Multi-platform and multi-sensor remote sensing is a major pathway to fill critical observation gaps to support Earth System process study, model initiation, and validation.
