CESSRST Graduate Student, Wendy Prudencio passes her dissertation proposal defense
CESSRST-II Cohort 1 Graduate Student Wendy Prudencio takes a giant step towards her PhD as she passes her dissertation proposal defense. Wendy is officially a PhD Candidate at the School of Public Policy at UMBC.
Wendy’s dissertation work is focused on disaster policy implications on displacement in Puerto Rico and the impact of energy supply on disadvantaged communities and medically vulnerable populations during natural hazards. Wendy’s Advisor Dr, Fernando Tormos-Aponte said ” She did a wonderful job and will continue to work towards her degree using NOAA satellite data which will make important contributions to the study of disaster management, coastal resilience, and environmental and energy justice”.
