CESSRST-II Mentors, Dr. Jorge Gonzalez, Professor at the Department of Atmospheric & Environmental Sciences at University of Albany (SUNY) and Dr. Reginald Blake, Professor of Physics at the New York City College of Technology (CityTech) were both honored for their efforts and contributions to STEM community by the American Meteorological Society.
Dr. Gonzalez received the Helmurt E. Landsberg award which recognizes him for significant contributions in modeling and observations of urban climate and its impact in California. Dr. Blake received the Charles E. Anderson award for being a champion of BIPoC students, an inspiring mentor, and a treasured colleague who enriches DEIJ efforts in the atmospheric sciences.
The awards will be presented at the 105th AMS Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana.
