Research
Temperate Forest Tree Growth Response to Climate in the Northeastern U.S.
This involves developing a mathematical model to synthesize field-based observations of forest growth at Black Rock Forest (BRF), other urban forests, and satellite-based remote sensing metrics of forest health to quantify how species-specific tree growth responds to water stress over a natural environmental gradient, utilizing dendrochronology and remote sensing, to promote experiential learning for the underrepresented, inner-city youth while advancing the understanding of forest response to changes in climate and forest composition.
