Jahnelle is a NOAA EPP/MSI Earth System Sciences and Remote Sensing-II Scholar in Cohort 1 at the Graduate Center, CUNY. She is a PhD student majoring in Earth and Environmental Sciences. Her research is on Sequestration and storage of Blue Carbon in mangroves in La Parguera, Puerto Rico.
In 2023, Jahnelle was selected as a NOAAEPP/MSI Graduate Fellow. she will complete her 1-year residency with the Northeast Fisheries Science Center at Sandy Hook, New Jersey, under the mentorship of Dr. Ashok Deshpande, a NOAA Research Scientist.
