Dr. Moshary joined CCNY in 1992 and ever since, has held various positions within the institution .In addition to serving as NOAA CESSRST’s Director, he is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Grove School of Engineering, CCNY and Professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences at The Graduate Center, City University of New York (CUNY). Also, he leads CCNY’s Optical Remote Sensing Lab and is currently working on active and passive remote sensing of the atmosphere with applications to atmospheric dynamics, air quality, and climate change.
Over the past 30 years, Dr. Moshary has been instrumental in developing academic course curricula and programs as well mentoring several students at undergraduate, master, and doctoral degree levels. He has either led or participated in 60 funded education and research grants. His work has been funded by NOAA, NSF, DoEd, NASA, NSF, DOD, NYSERDA, NYC, DOB/MORR, NESCAUM, and industry. Further, he has authored 78 refereed journal articles, 160 proceedings, and 3 patents, and given over 120 presentations and invited talks.
Dr. Moshary received his Bachelor of Science in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell University in 1983, Master’s in Science in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University in
1985, and Doctoral in Applied Physics from Columbia University in 1989.
